INDIAN COAST GUARD ASSISTANT COMMANDANT - GENERAL DUTY, COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE (CPL-SSA) AND TECHNICAL (ENGINEERING & ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS) FOR 01/2023 BATCH
The Indian Coast Guard, a ministry of defence, a armed force of the union published a latest notification for young and dynamic Indian male and female candidates, challenging career for various branches as an Assistant Commandant ( Group 'A' Gazetted Officer). Eligibility Criteria and Post Details:-
1. General Duty (GD):-
Age:- Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002
Gender:- Only Male Candidates are eligible.
Education Qualifications:-
i) Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
2. Commercial Pilot Licence (SSA):-
Age:- Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2004.
Gender:- Male/Female.
Educational Qualification:-
(i) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
(ii) Should possess current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of submission of application.
3. Technical (Mechanical):-
Age:- Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002.
Gender:- Only Male Candidates are eligible.
Educational Qualification:-
(i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
4. Technical (Electrical/ Electronics):-
Age:- Born between 01 Jul 1998 to 30 Jun 2002.
Gender:- Only Male Candidates are eligible.
Educational Qualification:-
i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks. (h) OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
Short Service Appointment (SSA) – Short Service Appointment as Assistant Commandant is for a period of 08 years which may be extended to 10 years and further extendable up to 14 years.

Promotion and Pay Level:-The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria.
The pay scales for the various ranks are as per the 7th CPC are as follows:-

The other pay and allowances are admissible as per the rules and regulation in addition to the above pay scale and Other Benefits.
i) Medical cover for self and family including dependent parents.
ii) Furnished Government accommodation for self & family on nominal license fee.
iii) 45 days Earned leave and 08 days Casual leave every year with Leave Travel Concession (LTC) for self, family and dependent parents as per Govt. rules.
iv) Insurance cover of 1 Crore at a premium of 10000/- per month as Group insurance as per prevalent rules.
